How To Reach IFMR

Participants are requested to bring their ID cards and produce them whenever necessary, for verification.

HOW TO GET TO IFMR?

If you’re arriving by train:

To get to IFMR from,

Chennai Central:

You have two possible options (We wouldn’t advise you to take any other mode of transport, particularly if you’re a first time visitor)
a) Take the local train
If you’re landing at Chennai Central, get to the Park Railway Station (look at map below to know how to get there).






Once you get to the park station, you can take a local train to Nungambakkam.
Stations on the way: 0) Park RS 1) Egmore RS 3)Chetpet RS 4)Nungambakkam RS
From the Nungambakkam railway station, you can either hoof it or take an autorickshaw.

For the more adventurous ones who decide to walk:
When you get to Nungambakkam station, climb up the flight of stairs.
Turn right at the top of the stairs.
Once you get out of the station that way, you’ll find a subway of sorts. Just keep walking – you’ll be walking along the wall of the Loyola College.
Cross the road when you reach the bifurcation and walk walk walk (you should be on Sterling Road now).
Watch the right side of the road, for a sign that reads “Kothari Road”. Turn right at Kothari Road; walk for about 2 minutes, and voila! There’s IFMR!

b) Take an autorickshaw
Should cost you about Rs.50 to Rs.70. Its hassle free!

Chennai Egmore:

You have it simple. Just switch tracks to get to the local trains, and get to Nungambakkam. From Nungambakkam to IFMR, the details are given in the previous section.




If you’re arriving by flight:

Very close the airport is the Minambakkam railway station. Board a local train there and get to the Nungambakkam railway station. Directions to get to IFMR from Nungambakkam are given in the ‘Trains’ section.

You could also take prepaid taxis from the airport.

ABOUT EVENTS:

X% stake and The Sirius are 2 day events. Participants will have to stay for both days of these events.

All files related to the events need to be sent to the abhyudaya@ifmr.ac.in id only.

ACCOMODATION:

Accomodation will be provided for all the shortlisted participants. Coupons will be provided for breakfast lunch and dinner. Expenses beyond the two day period (February 7th and 8th) will have to beborne by the participant.
